What's it all about?

What's up

What's Up Information was started because when we asked young Londoners how they felt about the opportunities on offer to them, you all said pretty much the same thing; there is nothing going on in my area, I'm bored or I don't know what's available to me.

Now we know there's lots on (this is the capital city after all), dance workshops, music taster courses, training and education to get you wherever you want to go plus free events, awards and theatre tickets so we set out to put this information into one place and inspire you with some new and interesting ways to spend your time. A famous man once said 'if you're bored of London, you're bored of life', well here at What's Up we say 'if you're bored of London, visit What's Up and find something better to do with your time than watch repeats on cable'. So endeth the sermon.

questions

Who are we?

We are a free portal, packed with positive information for young Londoners. That means we talk to everyone we can who's offering useful services, jobs, training, education, volunteering, help or events aimed at you and put all this information into one place. And here it is, a site that will make it easier for you to decide what to do with your time and help you make informed decision as to what direction you want your life to go in.

Who are we for?

We are for everyone, but we concentrate on 12 - 19 year olds. For now we're London only and the first two launch boroughs are Hackney and Lambeth / Southwark.

How it works

We produce a monthly printed pack which we leave in What's Up Information display units within schools, academies, theatres and youth centres. We work with a different celebrity to make each pack different and interesting and we have a website where we carry more information about opportunities or stories we think might be interesting to you.

Youth involvement

If you're a young Londoner, why not join our Youth Advisory Board and have your say on everything from who we should have on the cover to what organisations we feature email lucy@whatsupinformation.com.
